ACTING COMMISSIONER - MR. STAN AHIO
Mr. Stan Ahio has been appointed as the Acting Commissioner of the Communication Commission of Tonga. With over 20 years of experience in telecommunications, ICT policy, regulation, and digital transformation. As Acting Commissioner, he is the Secretary to the Commission and responsible for the Commission’s operational leadership, strategic directions, administration, and the effective implementation of its statutory mandate.
COMMISSION MEMBER - MR. LANO FONUA
Mr. Lano Fonua serves as a Member of the Communications Commission of Tonga. In this role, he contributes to the Commission’s collective oversight and decision-making, supporting the development of a fair, transparent, and effective communications sector. He works alongside fellow Commission members to advance sound regulatory practices and promote the interests of consumers and stakeholders across the Kingdom.
Our Commission
The Commission - is governed by a four members board, appointed in accordance with the Communications Commission Act. The Commission consists of a Chairperson, Deputy Chairperson, and 2 Commission Members. They are responsible for:

The Commissioner (Chief Executive Officer) - serves as the Chief Executive of the Commission, responsible for the day-to-day management and operations of the organisation, with key responsibilities include:

COMMISSION MEMBER - MR. HEKISOU FIFITA (ICT EXPERT)
Mr. Hekisou Fifita serves as a Member of the Communications Commission of Tonga and is the Commission’s ICT Expert. He brings specialised knowledge in information and communications technology, supporting the Commission in addressing technical, operational, and infrastructure-related matters within the sector. In his role, he contributes to informed decision-making and helps strengthen the development of a modern, resilient, and efficient communications environment for the Kingdom.
DEPUTY CHAIRPERSON - MS. ROSAMOND CARTER BING
Ms. Rosamond Carter Bing serves as the Deputy Chairperson of the Communications Commission of Tonga. She is a qualified lawyer with over 20 years of experience in public law. She has served in the public and private sectors in senior executive management roles including as Chief Executive Officer of the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources. She is currently engaged in the Australian Government’s bilateral development program in Tonga.
CHAIRPERSON - REV. SAMIUELA MANITISA FONUA
Reverend Samiuela Fonua is the Chairperson of the Communications Commission of Tonga. He brings a strong commitment to public service, integrity, and community leadership, guiding the Commission in its mandate to promote a fair, efficient, and accessible communications sector for the Kingdom. Under his leadership, the Commission is focused on strengthening governance, enhancing regulatory effectiveness, and supporting national development through modern and inclusive communication services.
